I heard about sketch a few years ago when a picture of their toilet pods showed up on my tumblr feed (see #6). I looked into it, and have been anticipating the day I'd get to have afternoon tea there. I finally got to do so, accompanied by my dad, and it was completely perfect. From the pink-everything to the satirical art by David Shrigley to the live music, it was a multi-sensory experience from my gastronomy dreams.

They even have a whole vegan afternoon tea menu! Dainty little sandwiches and cakes and desserts.

One pub had a neon sign with a quote from the movie 'Notting Hill' and then a bookstore across the street had a sign that said "This is not the shop from the rubbish film 'Notting Hill' so don't ask!". Mixed signals.

This was an ad for an upcoming housing development across the street from where I stayed. Out of context, it was nice to see everyday:)

Lovely London

I started my Fall Break in London. There's a distant familiarity I've always felt for this place, and I pieced it together on this trip. 10/17/1 Read More
